What happens when you're driving home, see a giant boat moored along the side of the river just off the road? If you're me (this may be a big shock :p) you go home and get decent exploring shoes and head the fuck back. Duh.
So that's Al. Way down the shoreline. Of note, (if you're as simple as me) that's the mouth of Tom's Run directly in front of me.
Al has a big ass. Extraordinarily square, so I hate to hull shame, but I bet that precludes the adoration of Sir Mix-a-Lot.
I also find the stones along the shore in this spot interesting. I think there are former iterations of the Killbuck boat launch to be found here.
But I also know that there are programs on the History channel that would insist that ancient aliens probably built this to launch their semi-amphibious UFOs in persuit of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Seems legit.
Shhhh... we're gonna sneak up on this bitch and scare it.
Block and tackle. Simple machine, right? We're using leverage so I'm almost certain it is. There may be a specific category or class I'm missing, but so be it.
Also fairly certain that this thing could lift my house without breaking a sweat and that's pretty sweet. Odds on that block weighing some not insignifigant fraction of my house? High.
Selfie with a big boat. I made the joke that one of these might wind up being a Tinder profile pic.
Probably not, but that is about my style
Pretty sure this is (no longer) a dock from somewhere upriver. If anybody feels like floating from Neville Island-ish this summer to the gulf, let me know.
Never... NEVER EVER!!! meet your heroes.
